Projects:

  1. Departmental service: Designing flyers for speakers in the Mathematics and Computer Sceince Departmental Seminar on the basis of original artistic contributions (rather than public domain artworks from 100+ years ago)
  2. Open source asset library: Learning, using, and developing new algorithmic techniques for generating diverse, rich, beautiful assets for use in video games and other digital environments.
  3. Reading groups for the classics of aesthetic theory: John Dewey, Susan Sontag, the “old” philosophers of high aesthetics, etc.
  4. Inquiry into the psychology of aesthetic experience, especially as it relates to computing.
  5. Appreciation of computing aesthetics in media: the movies, the music, etc.
