Projects:
- Departmental service: Designing flyers for speakers in the Mathematics and Computer Sceince Departmental Seminar on the basis of original artistic contributions (rather than public domain artworks from 100+ years ago)
- Open source asset library: Learning, using, and developing new algorithmic techniques for generating diverse, rich, beautiful assets for use in video games and other digital environments.
- Reading groups for the classics of aesthetic theory: John Dewey, Susan Sontag, the “old” philosophers of high aesthetics, etc.
- Inquiry into the psychology of aesthetic experience, especially as it relates to computing.
- Appreciation of computing aesthetics in media: the movies, the music, etc.
